Domestic & Commercial N.G Projects

Egypt Gas has implemented most of the domestic Natural Gas (N.G.) projects in Egypt on a turn-key basis.
 
 



 




 

Egypt Gas has a wide scope of services covering all elements of design and engineering to enable Natural Gas distribution through pipelines & underground networks from the main gas grid to consumption areas. Services typically start with a Market survey, Technical and Economic studies (land survey and appliances survey), and are then followed by the construction of odourization plant & pressure reducing and control stations, steel pipelines, Natural Gas distribution networks inside cities, regulators, external and internal installations, appliances conversion, and ending with constructing water-heater flues.

 

 
  All materials, specifications, codes of practice and construction procedures are fully in accordance with the international specifications.

  

Domestic Customers

  


 

The number of domestic natural gas customers [in Greater Cairo, Alex ,Delta and Canal regions.] reached 2.2 million by the end of 2008 .

Private bakeries

  


 

Egypt Gas has supplied Natural Gas to 2,106 public and private bakeries [December 2008]. which significantly contributed to the improvement and development of the bread industry in Egypt and also helped in sustaining a cleaner environment.


 


 

Commercial Establishments

  

The company has supplied 34,800 public & commercial establishments with Natural Gas [December 2008] and major sporting clubs in Egypt.


All completed projects included Technical and Economic studies (appliances survey), design and construction of Natural Gas networks as well as internal installations, in addition to testing, purging, commissioning & appliances conversion.
 

Supplying Natural Gas to houses is an optional service, but the continuous success achieved by the company in that field and its strict compliance with the highest safety regulations have increased the citizens' desire to use Natural Gas instead of LPG bottles.

Industrial Natural Gas (N.G) Projects

Natural Gas is being used instead of fuel oil and gas oil as a feedstock or catalyst element in Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Cement and Iron & Steel industries.
Egypt Gas has supplied Natural Gas to the major as well as minor industrial centers situated in old and new cities throughout Egypt.

Total number of Factories that the company has supplied with natural gas is 600 (end of 2008)

Natural Gas for Electric Power Stations

Natural Gas is the main source of energy for 32 Power Stations in Egypt producing more than 80% of the electricity supply of the country.
 

 

The Company has carried out all mechanical works, supply, construction of pressure reduction and measurement units, suspended & buried gas pipelines as well as undertaking the Cathodic protection (of diameters ranging between 8 and 28 inches at an operating pressure varying from 7 bar to 30 bar) to supply the Gas & Steam units at different electricity generating stations.

Emergency System
 

 

The Geographic Information System (GIS) is used to control the underground natural gas grid through a special system for emergencies, by which we can detect the locations of failure and immediately address them. This is undertaken by printing out a detailed map for the locations of valves and pipes feeding each building and an engineering drawing to support the map.

 


 
   

The system can detect the breakdown locations by using the customer's name or his CRN or his postal address. With the aid of the Customer Service System the number of appliances that work with natural gas, their type and location inside each apartment of the building can be determined, so as to guarantee accuracy and swiftness of response.
